Engagement & Diagnosis

Meet us and review your opportunities, challenges, successes, difficulties. Then review main parts of the business: supply chain, manufacturing process, and shipping / customer interface.

Profit Improvement Campaign

This phase is a joint partnership of your managers and our staff. Improving profits typically involves capitalizing on opportunities to reduce costs in the supply chain, improve productivity through machine speed/efficiency, and reduce downtime and energy costs.

Continuous Improvement

We fully expect your success to continue after our intensive involvement - but nothing is sustainable without follow-up. We will arrange for periodic reports and necessary visits to ensure that you capture gains, and continue to exceed your goals.

We believe that most pulp and paper mills in North America have the potential for the same kinds of major improvements that we have made in one or our reference mills. It was the #1 most efficient news machine in the world four years out of five. Both machines at this site were in the top 10% in the world. The profit improvement program we instituted there achieved higher efficiency, better safety, streamlined supply chain, and process and productivity gains. Multiple clients have said that they wouldn't still be viable without the work they did during our engagement

We believe the pace of improvements can be dramatically accelerated by appropriate analysis of current practices and the full engagement of the senior management and expanded leadership teams. Most improvements require little additional capital investment.

The pulp and paper business in North America is in a profit squeeze caused by shrinking markets and foreign competition. It is essential that the manufacturers accelerate the improvements of all their processes to remain viable, return a profit to their shareholders, and provide employment to their communities. Mills must create a highly motivated, flexible, engaged team from the top down and from the floor up.

Our principals and associates have over 25 yrs of experience each, working with progressive companies across the globe, helping them maximize the value of their capital investments and their most important under utilized resource - their human resource.
